Every summer, towards the end of August, Vichy welcomes, during a weekend, nearly 4,000 triathletes from all over the world for the IRONMAN 70.3 and the IRONMAN VICHY. This double event, which is one of the most prestigious in Europe, unites the whole city for a few days. The triathletes set off in Lake Allier in Vichy then continue by bike in the Montagne Bourbonnaise before deciding on a run around and in the town of Vichy, Queen of Spa Towns. The IRONMAN 70.3 includes 1.9 km of swimming, 90 km of cycling and 21 km of running. The flagship IRONMAN Vichy event includes 3.8 km of swimming, 180 km of cycling and 42 km of running. During this period, the city observes a high influx and an extreme demand for Airbnb-type seasonal rentals. We strongly recommend that you plan your visit in advance because reservations are often taken almost 10 months in advance, from the dates of the next IRONMAN announced.
